Applications for residency are accepted through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) only. This service, which is sponsored by Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), transmits residency applications, letters of recommendation, Dean's Letters, transcripts, and other supporting credentials from medical schools to residency program directors. We do not require any documents in addition to ERAS requirements.

Please refer to ERAS web site or the contact person at your school in order to learn more about applying for residency through ERAS.

The Department of Orthopaedics participates in the National Resident Matching Program. Through this program, five residents will be selected for a traditional 5-year orthopaedic residency program. A sixth resident will be chosen for the 6-year research track program.

Deadline

The deadline for receipt of your completed application, with the exception of your Dean's letter, is October 15, 2008. Applications that are incomplete as of October 15, 2008 will not be considered.

Interviews

Approximately 70 applicants will be selected for an interview. These individuals will be notified by email on November 5, 2008. Those not selected for interviews will also be notified by email on this date.

Interviews will take place on the following dates:

Friday, December 5, 2008
Friday, December 12, 2008
Friday, January 9, 2009

The interviews begin at 7:00 a.m. and end at approximately 5:00 p.m. Interviewees are asked to arrive the evening before their interview in order to participate in a special welcome reception.
