July 2008

Eight medical specialties at The Ohio State University are named among the nation’s best in the latest survey conducted by U.S. News & World Report magazine. This is the 16th consecutive year Ohio State has been named one of “America’s Best Hospitals” in the magazine, which appears on newsstands July 21, 2008.

The oncology program at Ohio State's James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute again ranked among the top 20 cancer programs in the country, and the respiratory disorders program at Ohio State’s Medical Center jumped 14 places to reach 27 on the 2008 list.

The magazine also recognizes The Ohio State University Medical Center programs in ear, nose & throat, endocrinology, gynecology, kidney disease, orthopaedics, and rehabilitation as being among the best in the country. Of the nearly 5,500 hospitals and medical centers eligible for this year’s rankings, Ohio State was one of only 170 selected.
